Trail cams are a great way to identify wildlife in you local area. Many animals are shy and won’t come out during the day or when people are around. While you could try sitting still and quiet in the bush in the hopes something passes by; weather, time and just plain boredom make this highly impractical.
Trail cams can be set up to take photos or videos when they detect movement, you can even set them to only operate within specific hours so they’ll only be triggered when the animals you’re looking for are active.

At Apical we use trail cams for a number of things. Sometimes we’re called upon to identify if a specific species is present on site or to assess the overall diversity of the wildlife population. We also use trail cams to see how animals respond to certain stimuli or baits.
